Well!!! Labor is divided into three stages:
The duration of early labor is quite unpredictable however for first-time- mothers, the usual duration of early labor is between 6-12 hours. The stage is relatively shorter in mothers who have already had deliveries.
Here are some signs when of early labor
- Persistent lower back pain or abdominal pain, with a pre-menstrual feeling and cramps
- Painful contractions or tightening that may be irregular in strength and frequency, and may stop and start.
- In the stage of early labor, the cervical opening begins to dilate and mild uterine contractions set in. The contractions generally last for 40-70 seconds and come at regular gap. Usually the contractions come at a gap of five minutes.
- The early labor phase time of the onset of labor until the cervix is dilated to 3 cm.
- Water break
Active Labor Phase
Now this is a time to rush to the hospital at this stage the cervix is dilated up to 7 cm.Your contractions will become longer and stronger.
During this stage try to drink plenty of water, switch positions, try walking and take a warm bath.
This is the most difficult phase for every mother….Or the shortest one. During this stage your cervix is fully dilated and it ends with a birth of a baby.
